About Me

Hello there! I’m Henry Tsang, a internet marketing consultant based in Calgary. I help businesses generate more revenue by building a brand, improving their online presence and increasing their leads through internet marketing. I specialize in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Google Ads (Paid search) and website design.

My mission is to impact the world and change people’s lives positively through digital marketing. I do this by making sure people find what they are searching for on Google and other search engines through optimizing my client’s websites!

Why I started digital marketing

It was the summer of 2016. I had just graduated high school at the ripe age of 17. Like most 17 or 18 year olds, of course I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life. Most of my friends and classmates went on to university, but unfortunately for me, my grades weren’t good enough to get into most universities.

And so I spent a year upgrading and taking high school courses. My grades were much better and I had applied to Engineering at the University of Calgary, expecting to get in this time.

Fast forward to the summer of 2017, I received a letter from the University of Calgary. Lo and behold, I got rejected from Engineering but I was offered a choice for the Arts/General studies program. But I knew that program wouldn’t lead to any career path, and I couldn’t live down spending tens of thousands of dollars into something that wasn’t going to go anywhere.

Luckily, a Youtube channel called Engineered Truth I’ve followed since 2014 was promoting an online digital marketing course at the time. After watching all the testimonials of people getting jobs and succeeding in it, I bought the course in September 2017.

I spent months learning digital marketing by building WordPress websites, running my own Google Ads campaigns, and performing SEO techniques on my websites.

I applied to jobs and I went on many interviews.

It was a long and arduous journey. I studied alone at the library everyday.

My family thought I was stupid and told me to go to university instead. They told me to get a “real job” and stop wasting my time “playing” on the computer. My friends told me there’s no demand for digital marketing and that I should just join them at university

I started to believe them. Negative thoughts filled my head.

But thanks to Seth Hymes (founder of the course) and other students, I was able to keep charging forward despite the tough times.

After a few months, I finally got a SEO position at a tech company called Userful. From there, I gained experience at other jobs that eventually led to the decision of freelancing for myself in the beginning of 2019.

I never gave up because I saw the life that I could be living, working remotely across the world and impacting businesses positively was possible.

Fast forward to now, my goal is to help more people gain customers and build their business through digital marketing.

I believe at the end of the day, if you approach people with the intention of helping them, solving their problems and providing value, then your efforts will go infinitely farther.
